Meet the new faces of public service

NEW PUBLIC SERVICE SHOW “SI MANOY ANG NINONG KO” PREMIERES SUNDAY

Be inspired with stories of hope, resilience, and modern day “bayanihan” in the newest public service program “Si Manoy ang Ninong Ko” premiering Sunday (March 3) on GMA.

Hosting the show are the newest faces of public service: TV personalities Gelli de Belen, Patricia Tumulak, and Sherilyn Reyes-Tan. Joining them is Manoy himself, former businessman and now public servant, Agri Party-list Rep. Wilbert T. Lee.

According to Manoy Wilbert, “Si Manoy ang Ninong Ko” will “feature real life stories of our kababayans that will surely inspire us to work hard, persevere in life, and never lose hope.”

“Whatever problems we are facing, we can get through it with a little help from the community and from our countrymen––who, deep down, care about others.”

Veteran actress and host Gelli De Belen, for her part, shared that “the help that the beneficiaries of the show need is beyond the usual food or financial aid; what they need is something that will really help them earn a living and sustain them in the long run.”

Every week the show will feature two beneficiary groups, with hosts Patricia and Sherilyn going onsite to learn about the concerns of the beneficiaries firsthand.

“Sometimes they just want to feel that they are seen and heard, so listening to them is already a form of help. But of course, we don't stop there. We thoroughly study their cases, and we try to provide solutions for their concerns,” explained Patricia.

Sherilyn pointed out that “we want to go beyond solving their immediate problems… we also want to give them hope by providing opportunities to support themselves in the long-term.”

For its pilot telecast, Manoy Wilbert together with Gelli, Patricia and Sherilyn will tackle the challenges faced by onion farmers in Pangasinan, as well as those encountered by volunteer sea guardians in Orani, Bataan.

BAGONG PUBLIC SERVICE SHOW NA “SI MANOY ANG NINONG KO,” MAGSISIMULA NA

Ma-inspire sa mga kwento ng pag-asa, katatagan, at modern day “bayanihan” sa pinakabagong public service program na “Si Manoy ang Ninong Ko” simula Linggo (March 3) on GMA.

Pinangungunahan ang programa ng hosts na sina Gelli de Belen, Patricia Tumulak, Sherilyn Reyes-Tan, at  Manoy himself, dating businessman at ngayon public servant, Agri Party-list Rep. Wilbert T. Lee.

Ayon kay Manoy Wilbert, tampok sa “Si Manoy ang Ninong Ko” ang mga “tunay na kwento ng ating mga kababayan na siyang magbibigay inspirasyon sa atin para lalo tayong magsumikap, na hindi tayo mawalan ng pag-asa.”

“Ano mang problema ang ating kinakaharap ay tiyak na malalampasan sa tulong ng ating komunidad at mga kapwa Pilipino na sa kaibuturan ay may malasakit para sa bawat isa.”

Pagbabahagi naman ng veteran actress na si Gelli, “Iyong mga problema nila na kailangan nila ng tulong, hindi siya 'yong usual na kailangan ng pera o pagkain, ang kailangan talaga nila ay ang nakakatulong sa mga trabahong ginagawa na nila.”

Linggo linggo, dalawang beneficiaries ang itatampok ng programa at personal na pupuntahan ng hosts para kapanayamin at harapang alamin ang kanilang mga hinaing.

“Sometimes they just want to be seen and heard. Yung marinig lang natin ay malaking bagay at tulong na para sa kanila. Pero syempre di tayo hihinto riyan. Mabusisi nating aaralin ang bawat sitwasyon at susubukan nating bigyan ito ng pangmatagalang mga solusyon,” sabi ni Patricia

Idiniin din ni Sherilyn na “Hindi natin sino-solve ang problema nila at the moment. Binibigyan din natin sila ng hope at chance na itaguyod ang kanilang pamilya o sarili nila. Kumbaga long term talaga at hindi kung ano lang yung mabigay ngayon iyon na.”

Sa darating na pilot episode nito, pakikinggan at tutulungan nina Manoy Wilbert, Gelli, Patricia at Sherilyn ang mga onion farmer ng Pangasinan, pati na rin ang volunteer sea guardians ng Orani, Bataan.
